Just landed in Honolulu, A view from my office from downtown Honolulu, beautiful sunshine and blue sky. But please don’t go down to the street to look too closely, filled with homeless, crack cocaine users (Hawaii is the crack cocaine center of US).
Those in the real estates arena (developers, engineers, contractors and etc are making reasonably good income, but still 1/3 less than California) are making good money followed by arm dealers.
Don’t walk the streets late at night, not as bad as SF, LA or NY, but you still fear for your life. It is of course if you are the top 10% lives in the gated secure community or high end neighborhoods never walk the streets or go to any bargain places where low income people goes to, takes no public transportation. These wealthy 10% chances of living a full life substantially increased and America is good for them.
In America, within a few blocks or within a square mile of space, you could experience a first world and quickly down grade to a third world country. For people not familiar with the neighborhood including uninformed tourist, crossing the red lines could mean life or death.
