Chinese in San Francisco protest against Nancy Pelosi destroying US-China relations to benefit the Military Industrial Complex bringing US proxy war against China in Taiwan to destroy Taiwan like US did to Ukraine

Alliance for Reunification launches a Sunday rally to unite Chinese community to denounce Pelosi

 Peter Chi, Chairman of San Francisco Bay Area Alliance for Peaceful Reunification, announced that a rally will be held at Portsmouth Square in SF Chinatown at 11:00 a.m. this Sunday , August 21, 2022.  The rally follows up on the August 1, 2022 protest at the Federal Building against Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan,

Chi  said that Pelosi continued to make provocative statements against China that promoted her own interests while furthering damage to US-China relations. It is reported that Pelosi will return to the Bay Area for August 20-22, 2022.   As our elected Representative to Congress, “…we are gathering people in the Chinese community to express our voice”.

Chi  pointed out that the relationship between the United States and China has been damaged.   The interests of Chinese in the United States have been harmed. He hoped that all sectors of the community will actively participate in the rally to advocate the interests and survival of Chinese in the United States.

Guan Jiacheng, director of the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (Six Companies), President of  Bay Area Alliance for Peaceful Reunification, called on the Chinese community to actively participate in Sunday’s rally. He pointed out that Pelosi’s political career is encountering difficulty.  In promoting her own interests while disregarding the interests of the Chinese and American people, her visit to Taiwan and her remarks have created tensions between China and the United States.  Her visit violated the One China Policy agreed upon by United States and China. This harms Chinese Americans. He also called on the community to actively participate in politics and use their votes to demonstrate the power of the Chinese community .

Wu Guobao,  President Emeritus of the Alliance for Peaceful Reunification, pointed out that whether it is former Defense Secretary Mark Esper’s visit to Taiwan on July 18, or the European Parliament’s Deputy Speaker Nicola Beer’s visit to Taiwan from 19 to 21 of the same month , or on August 1st, Speaker of the House of Representatives Pelosi, and on August 14th, a cross-party delegation led by Ed Markey, Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Subcommittee of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, will set a bad example for more politicians. 

As Chinese Americans, we all swear allegiance to the United States. However, individuals, political parties, and special interests do not represent the best interests of the United States and its people. We should speak out fearlessly.

Julie Tang said Pivot to Peace is joining with other organizations in the community and will participate in the 1-hour rally at Portsmouth Square  at 11:00 a.m. on August 21. She said that Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan has brought  the already bad US-China relationship to a new low point.  It has intensified racist hatred, with anti-Chinese cases emerging without end.

舊金山灣區中國統一促進會理事長池洪湖昨天表示，本周日（21日）上午11時將在華埠花園角召集灣區各界集會，這是繼月初到聯邦眾議院議長普洛西7街的辦公室前抗議她出訪台灣的延續。

池洪湖表示，普洛西回美後繼續發表言論刺激中國，企圖進一步破壞美中關係，滿足自己的私利。據悉，普洛西20至22日期間會回到灣區，她是三藩市選民選出代表三藩市出任聯邦眾議員，「因此，我們組織社區各界集會，表達華人社區的聲音。」

池洪湖指美中關係受破壞，在美華人及僑胞的利益都受傷害，希望社區各界積極參與集會，確保華人在美國的利益和生存至關重要。

中華總會館總董、舊金山灣區中國統一促進會會長關家澄呼籲僑胞踴躍參與周日的集會。他指出，普洛西的政治生涯已是窮途末路，為了自己的利益，罔顧中美人民的利益，她的訪台及言論，製造中美關係、台海局勢緊張，違背美中建交的承諾，對在美華人不利。他亦呼籲華人積極參政，要用選票彰顯華人的力量。

統促會榮譽會長吳國寶指出，無論是前國防部長艾斯培（Mark Esper）率訪問團7月18日訪台，還是歐洲議會副議長畢爾（Nicola Beer）同月19日至21日訪台，或是8月1日聯邦眾議院議長普洛西、8月14日聯邦參議院外交委員會亞太小組主席馬基（Ed Markey）組跨黨派訪問團訪台，都會給更多政客起到惡劣的示範。身為美籍華人都宣誓效忠美國，個人、政黨、利益不代表美國及人民的利益，我們應該要勇敢的發聲。

「重返和平」聯合創始人鄧孟詩表示，「重返和平」與社區多個組織相應統促會的呼籲，參與21日上午11時在華埠花園角為期約1小時的集會。她說，普洛西訪台後，進一步令到原本已出現裂痕的美中關係走向低谷，加劇了各種仇恨，針對華人社區的案件層出不窮
