No future for the Hawaii’s young, smart people with brain born without a family welfare plan. Outmigration In Hawaii Is Expected To Drive Major Declines In Public School Enrollment 沒有家庭福利計劃的聰明有智慧年輕人在夏威夷沒有未來. 夏威夷的外遷預計將導致公立學校入學人數大幅下降 By Jessica Terrell-Civil Beat 9-16-22
Enrollment in Hawaii public schools is way down, and that’s expected to continue. This year, 3,000 fewer students are attending Hawaii’s 295 public schools compared to last year, according to data presented yesterday to the Board of Education.
Sure, enrollment is down everywhere due to drops in birth rates. But something else is at play in the Aloha State: About half of students leaving Hawaii’s public schools are mainland bound.
Enrollment is projected to continue to plummet nearly 14% over the next five years.
Chronic absenteeism is another key concern. More than a third of Hawaii students were chronically absent from school last year.
The education board is reviewing these numbers as it embarks on the immense task of creating a new strategic plan to guide the direction of Hawaii schools. See how enrollment has changed in your complex area and learn more about yesterday’s presentation.
