Growing up in a middle class family in HK, attended private Catholic school since kindergarten, taught by priests if we follow the 10 commandments we will go to heaven! If we mess up like committed adultery, just go confession (implying that you could do it again). What if I grew up in a very poor family when I don’t have food, shelter, healthcare etc? Heaven seems to be a little far and remote for me as I may not live long and old enough to go to heaven. Western democracy preaches freedom and voting which is a process like what need to be done to go to heaven. 西方民主宣揚自由和投票是否一個過程，這就像上天堂的過程一樣。

So we need to find a middle ground and that is why China so smart. China practice whole process democracy.
