Join Anna Eng and David Lei on Sunday Sept 22nd: All day tour of Historic Summit Tunnels, China Wall, the difficult to find Chinese Catfish Pond, Golden Drift Museum and Chinese Cemetery in Dutch Flat – if time permits, possibly visit Bloomers Cut.
The trip is free but Registration is Required so we have an idea of how many people are coming. To Reserve your spot, please fill-out the Registration Form completely by Sep 15th so we can send you updated information. Sorry for the short notice, but our trips do fill up quickly so Reserve your spot ASAP. Folks should plan on driving their own cars and arrange their own carpools. We will help connect people if possible.

10:15am – Meet at Old 40 Bar & Grill – 19320 Donner Pass Rd, Norden, CA 95724
Hike to Chinese Catfish Pond – 39.32262544824798, -120.32335296804405
(Gradual uphill climb for scenic views of Catfish pond, Summit Tunnels, Donner Lake & Snow sheds).
12:00: Lunch at Old 40 Bar & Grill (or bring your own lunch) – 19320 Donner Pass Rd, Norden, CA 95724
(Salads, burgers, sandwiches & great homemade pies a la mode.)
1:00pm – Meet at entrance to Historic Summit Tunnel – GPS location: 39.316687, -120.329890
(Walk through Tunnel #6 – see China Wall, other tunnels and Donner Lake – bring headlamp or flashlights.)
3pm – Drive to Golden Drift Museum in Dutch Flat – 32820 Main St, Dutch Flat, CA 95714 – the museum will open late for our group.
