My good friend and UH fellow alumni out of the blue called me from Vancouver Canada, he open his conversation by saying: “good to know you are returning to HK for good”. I was a little surprised he said that. He follow up to say he was told I am returning to HK in November. I told him I am going to HK for vacation this time. He followed up to say he had dinner with 5 other Chinese couples last night, age 60-72. They are all in the process of liquidating their real estates and moving to Zhongshan to retire within the next 2-4 months. It is huge decision for them after spending last 40-50 years in Canada. Once left, they have no plan to return to Canada. My friend expect his real estates sales will by completed by the end of January next year before also leaving Canada for good. I asked what about their children and grandchildren. They said all the smart one already left and the not so smart ones will stay. Canada is collapsing faster than US. Their children and grandchildren need to take care of themselves. He said he is planning to set up a group named “North America Chinese returns to their roots.” to encourage, support and give advice to those want to leave US & Canada hand holding as they will not be alone. 我的好朋友和夏威夷大學校友突然從加拿大溫哥華給我打電話，他開始談話時第一句話是說：「很高興知道你要永遠回到香港」。他這麼說我有點驚訝。他接著說，他被告知我將於 11 月返回香港。我告訴他我這次祇是要去香港度假。他接著說，昨晚他和另外5對年齡在60-72歲之間的中國人夫婦共進晚餐。他們都在賣掉全部加拿大房產，並在未來2-4個月內搬到中山退休。他們在加拿大已經生活了 40-50 年，對他們來說，這是一個重大決定。一旦離開，他們就沒有返回加拿大的計劃。我的朋友預計他的房地產銷售將在明年一月底完成，也永遠離開加拿大。我問他們的孩子和孫子呢？他們說所有聰明的都已經返回亞洲，不那麼聰明的將會留下來，自求多福吧。他們決定在那麼大年紀也出走是因為加拿大的崩潰速度比美國更快。他說，他正計劃成立一個名為「北美華人回根」的羣組，來鼓勵、支持那些想要離開美國和加拿大的人並為其提供建議，讓他們知道不會孤單.
