Taiwanese friend (Luo): Johnson, although I was born and raised in Taiwan, and was educated in “Chinese 5,000-year-old culture” since childhood (1950s), I have no special feelings for the mainland. It was not until I went to the mainland for the first time in 1997 that I truly felt the “connection with the mainland” and realized that the 5,000-year-old culture can only be seen here!

In the five years after 1997, I visited the mainland every year. I often think why travel around the world, if I can see the great mountains and rivers of the mainland, my life will be worth it, don’t you think?

台灣好友（Luo): Johnson, 我雖然在臺灣出生、在臺灣長大，從小受的教育就是「中國五千年文化」的教育（1950年代），但對大陸卻沒有特殊感情，直到1997年第一次去大陸，才真正感受到那種「與大陸的連結」，才知道五千年的文化就在這裡才看得到！

1997之後的五年，我每年造訪大陸，我常覺得何必環遊世界，能看遍大陸的偉大山河，一生就值得了，你說是嗎？
