In the past twenty years, China has become the leading trade partner for most of the countries in South America. This is despite strong overtures by Latin America for increased trade and stronger ties with North America and Western Europe.

And American companies are also pulling back and out of South America, even as the region is experiencing a major boom in household incomes and middle class growth.

先說一則28年前中央電視台的專題報道……
1996年，中美關係陷入危機，美軍竟把航母開進台灣海峽挑釁，國民憤慨。
身處河南許昌市的三個年輕伙子看到新聞，怒不可遏，倒篋傾囊，湊了2萬元人民幣，攬著錢上北京，說要給國家捐錢去。
跳上的士，司機好奇問：你們來幹什麼的？
小伙子說：「我們是來捐錢，給國家搞國防建設，要維護國家尊嚴啊，外國人來打我們，我們都要有能力防衛，有能力還撃……」

那年代的中國，個體戶很多，但假貨充斥、山寨品橫行，弟弟由於吃過虧撞過板，痛定思痛決心做誠實商人，開間不賣假貨的店，店舖牆上寫著六個大字「用真品，換真心」，承諾絕不賣假，絕不欺騙消費者，任何人在店內買到假貨，一律包退包換。
店裡每件商品都印上「胖子店」專用印章，只要拿著有印章的貨品上門退換貨，一律滿足。
這種生意手法，在冒牌貨充斥的90年代，絕對是獨樹一幟創先河，果然，真心換來回頭客，「胖子店」的名氣也愈來愈大，之後就是上京捐錢事件。
誠實經營手法令「胖子店」越來越受注目，當然，也引來仇恨與嫉妒。
1998年，「胖子店」一名女員工被調戲受辱，弟弟出頭保護下屬打走惡霸，觸怒了黑幫。當晚，「胖子店」被報復縱火，辛苦經營的店舖瞬間化作灰燼，三兄弟再次一無所有。
更讓弟弟悲痛的，不是燒掉的生意失去的財，而是大火奪去了八條人命。
由於「胖子店」樓上是旅館，大火一燒，熟睡旅客走避不及，結果，7名旅客和一名店舖員工被燒死。
每次回憶，弟弟都會這樣說：「那場大火其實是死了十幾人，燒死的，還有事後被槍斃的……」，他永遠牢記，一時衝動的代價原來很大。
大起大落的人生，本以為會在灰燼中終結，誰知，在黑暗時刻，一位老太太舊顧客向弟弟遞上自己的2萬存款，說要幫忙「胖子店」東山再起。

是的，這個弟弟，叫于東來，就是當今中國大名鼎鼎的「胖東來超市」老闆，28年前跟他一起上京捐錢的哥哥叫于東明，表弟叫劉紅軍，他們都是善良百姓的典範。
