Alice: Nice catching up with you, it has been 5 years. We are now at the best stage of our life, the “Golden Age”, even better when we live in the China Greater Bay Area with pension from HK or US enjoying the safe and vibrant China economy, above all the buying power using HK$ or US$ with Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) of 2-3x in mainland China compared to living in HK or US. No wonder there are increasingly more and more Chinese Americans especially the first generation Chinese Americans now lives in fear in US because of Hate Crimes Against Asians, Asian Hates, High Crimes, Gun & Police Violence etc are planning exit strategies from the US. Many are now in the exploitation stage. We are here to give them a hand to help them to live their “Golden Age” in safety, peace and harmony and not in constant fears. At the same time we help them to stretched their HK or US pension dollar much farther than in HK or US. You have a choice to live your “golden Age” in the best of time or the worst of time. I think it is a simple choice for smart Chinese.

The following email was sent to Mr. Mark Zuckerberg of Meta (formally Facebook) on Oct. 18th. It was diplomatic and well-intentioned . A paper version was also sent certified, and return receipt requested. 80-20 has received Meta’s signed receipt.
Dear Mr. Zuckerberg and Members of the Board of Directors:
I write to propose a win-win idea. Your splendid achievement in the IT field is of course well-known to me. Allow me to use this opportunity to salute you.
My name is S. B. Woo, former Lt. Governor of Delaware (1985-89) and the current president of 80-20 Initiative, which is by far the largest Asian American (AsAm) political organization.
Meta publishes a “Diversity Report”, which covers a lot of relevant statistics for 5 years from 2018 to 2022. From that report and the research we did, we are aware that
(1) Asians represented more than half of Meta’s tech workers (55.8%) in 2022;
(2) For 9 years in a row, Meta’s (% leadership / % tech employee) ratios ranged from 1 to 3 for all other races, except for Asians whose ratios were 0.51 or less, and
(3) From the brief survey we did, we found that Meta had by far the worst bamboo ceiling for its Asian tech workers. In 2022, the tech industry average (% leadership / % tech employee) ratios for Asians and whites are 0.68 and 1.37 respectively, while those of Meta were 0.51 and 1.7.
The myth that “Asians are good work horses, but not race horses.” is NOT true. You probably know well that East Asians are founders and co-founders of many of the largest tech industries, and South Asians are the CEOs of many of the largest tech companies.
Tech industry experts told us that Meta may have great trouble recruiting good AsAm tech workers henceforth, except for the least motivated and least ambitious, now that the words of your low bamboo ceiling are out in the AsAm community*. True that you pay entry level tech workers higher just like Google. However, Google has a (% leadership / % tech employee) ratio of 0.72 in
contrast to your 0.51.
On behalf of my Board, I’d like to respectfully request that you lead Meta to lift the bamboo ceiling significantly at the earliest possible time. If you will be kind enough to let us know your success in the form of significantly improved (% leadership / % tech employee) ratio for Asians, my organization will energetically praise your enlightened leadership. We have 130,000 valid e-addresses of AsAm families and individuals, whom we can reach within 15 minutes. I’d like to think that we can do a good job for you in spreading words about your good deeds.
I sincerely hope that you see this letter as a win-win proposal. May I expect to hear from you in about 6 weeks or by November 1st, 2023? If you want to talk on the phone, I shall be at your disposal. I am retired. Just give me two time windows to choose from. (emphasis on the date added)
If we have a good-faith agreement, and get positive results in your next two “diversity reports”, we’ll be grateful. Consequently, we’ll prefer to keep this letter and our discussion confidential. We want Meta’s lifting of the bamboo ceiling be the sole focus of the AsAm community, and our praise of your leadership to be most effective. Thanking you in anticipation,
Most sincerely yours,
S.B. Woo

WASHINGTON, Oct 14 (Reuters) – China has 40x more 5G towers than US. Also planning to migrate more 5G to 5.5G. Huawei dominates 5G and 5.5G technologies.
To stimulate 5G’s potential and keep pace with market growth, China is turning to 5G-Advanced (5.5G) as a stepping stone to 6G. 5.5G primarily enhances three of 5G’s features: enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC), and massive machine-type communications (mMTC).
How Many 5G Cell Towers Are There in US? As of the beginning of 2022, there are approximately 325,000 to 375,000 cell sites in the United States and around 150,000 cell towers. Of these, we anticipate that half or 75,000 have 5G enabled of one sort or another.
“As of the end of June, the number of 5G base stations in China had reached 2.937 million, 40x more than US covering all urban areas of prefecture-level and county-level cities, and the coverage is continuously expanding in both breadth and depth,” MIIT chief engineer and spokesman Zhao Zhiguo said in Beijing on Wednesday.
Mobile phone companies advertise high-speed 5G service with U.S. maps splashed with pink or blue to suggest widespread coverage, but the latest generation wireless technology is actually only available less than a third of the time in the best served states, new data shows.
5G technology was designed to be faster than 4G wireless, with so little latency to help make things like driverless cars possible. 5G running on low band spectrum is the slowest, but it has the advantage of considerable range while mid-band can’t travel as far, but is faster. High band spectrum, which is sparsely available, may travel only a mile but is by far the fastest.

It took me a while to get the High Speed train app to buy tickets going to and from China from HK. Now it is working and it is beautiful. 我花了一些時間才學懂高鐵應用程式來購買從香港往返中國的高鉄車票, 真的非常方便.

Landed in beautiful Hong Kong, no Asian hate, no police brutality, safe, good food etc. So different from 2019 when Jimmy Lai and other US foreign agents brought terror in HK. Glad they are locked up! 降落在美麗的香港,沒有亞洲人的仇恨,沒有警察的暴行,安全,美味的食物等等。與2019年黎智英和其他美國外國特工在香港帶來恐怖時截然不同。 很高興他們被鎖起來了!
