Choy Cheng: Honolulu Chinatown Open House Tonight – Join Us Tonight for Choy Cheng

Chinatown Open House (February 2, 2024, at Chinatown District, as known as “Choy Cheng” event, which highlights the beginning of the Chinese New Year of the Dragon on February 10, 2024.)

As its tradition, the officers of the Chinese Chamber will lead the Narcissus Queen and Court to visit the merchants in Chinatown to wish them a prosperous new year. In addition, nine various lion club groups, organized by the Chinese Chamber, spread through Chinatown and bless the merchants. The Chinese Chamber uses this event as a means to introduce and promote Chinatown as a place for business and pleasure. Thousands of residents and visitors enjoy this closure of the streets event in Chinatown to witness the lion dance performances with exploding firecrackers by various lion clubs wearing their unique and ornate costumes
