清朝末年，台島以及巴丹群島在內的附屬海域被割讓給了日本，1945年之後，日本將包括巴丹群島在內的相關海域歸還！但是當時的民國並沒有接收巴丹群島，這才導致1945年菲律賓直接上手管控該片島嶼群。

Engineers have begun work on the world’s largest hydroelectric project, in China’s Xizang.

While the topography of the region is ideal for large-scale hydro, they face enormous challenges. The area is remote, the canyon walls are steep and narrow, and it sits in an active earthquake zone. The project will take a decade to bring online, and will cost $170 billion to complete.

But in the context of comparable new power projects globally, $170B is a relative bargain. When complete, the new dam will generate the equivalent of one Great Britain’s worth of electric power, every year, and further push down China’s already low energy costs for households and industries.
