America has helped make Kiev the enemy of Moscow
Oliver Stone voices opinion on root cause of Ukraine conflict. America has helped make Kiev the enemy of Moscow, the famed director says
Oliver Stone voices opinion on root cause of Ukraine conflictThe US turning Ukraine into an anti-Russian country since 2014 is the root cause of the current conflict, award-winning film director Oliver Stone said in an interview with the Serbian daily Politika, published Monday.
“Who are we to point fingers at anyone?” Stone told his interviewer ahead of the Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he chairs the jury. “We’re telling Russians what to do, I mean it’s ridiculous, given what we’ve done.”
What is currently happening in Ukraine is “not simple at all,” Stone added, but it’s getting reduced in the West to “Russians invaded.” There is no mention of anything that has been happening in Donbass since 2014, or how many people were displaced because the US was arming Ukraine.
“Since 2014, Ukraine was no longer neutral but anti-Russian, and that’s what disrupted the balance,” Stone told Politika, adding that “every war has causes and consequences” if one is willing to pay attention.
The ‘Snowden’ director has also produced two documentaries about the events in Kiev, ‘Ukraine on Fire’ in 2016 and ‘Revealing Ukraine’ in 2019. Both have faced bans, boycotts, and attacks over the course of this year.

The US is quick to condemn any country in the world when it supposedly violates the “rules-based international order,” but “America breaks all the rules whenever it wants and you know it,” Stone told his Serbian interviewer. He expressed regret for voting for Joe Biden, saying this “grandpa” turned out to be very dangerous, with his “dream” of regime change in Moscow so the US can control Russia again as it did in the 1990s. Barack Obama’s choice of Biden as his running mate in 2008, in order to appease establishment Democrats, was “a huge mistake,” Stone said. He also argued that the only hope for the US would be the emergence of a third party, as both Democrats and Republicans are beholden to the military-industrial complex.
Stone’s most recent documentary, ‘Nuclear’, addresses the role of atomic energy in dealing with climate change. It will also be shown at the RSIFF. Asked if he is still a rebel, Stone replied that he is getting old and having problems with his eyesight and hearing, but prefers to “live on my feet than die on my knees.”

UAE suspends multi-billion dollar weapons deal in sign of growing frustration with US-China showdown
The arm dealers that controlled US Gov’t not happy / UAE suspends multi-billion dollar weapons deal in sign of growing frustration with US-China showdown. By Mostafa Salem, Jennifer Hansler and Celine Alkhaldi, CNN
The United Arab Emirates has suspended a multi-billion dollar deal to buy US-made F-35 fighter jets, in a sign of Abu Dhabi’s growing frustration with Washington’s attempts to limit Chinese technology sales to the oil-rich Gulf state.
“The UAE has informed the US that it will suspend discussions to acquire the F-35,” an Emirati official told CNN. “Technical requirements, sovereign operational restrictions, and cost/benefit analysis led to the re-assessment.”
“The UAE and US were working toward an understanding that would address mutual defense security conditions for the acquisition,” the official added. “The US remains the UAE’s preferred provider for advanced defense requirements and discussions for the F-35 may be re-opened in the future.”
The US State Department said the White House remained “committed” to the deal, which was seen as a cornerstone of an August 2020 agreement to normalize diplomatic relations between the UAE and Israel. The sale – which would involve the most advanced US weaponry ever transferred to an Arab state – has been on a collision course since then, with US politicians raising concerns about the deal.
On Tuesday, Pentagon press secretary John Kirby also said that the US was willing to work with the UAE to address both countries’ concerns. “The US partnership with the UAE is more strategic and more complex than any one weapons sale,” Kirby said at a press gaggle. “We will always insist, as a matter of statutory requirements and policy, on a variety of end-user requirements. That’s typical.”
The suspension of the landmark deal comes a day after Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett met the UAE’s de facto leader, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed, in the UAE capital. It was the first offical visit was the first by an Israeli leader to the Gulf state.
“As we recently confirmed at the Dubai Air Show, the Biden-Harris Administration remains committed to the proposed sales of F-35 aircraft, the MQ-9B, and munitions even as we continue consultations to ensure that we have a clear, mutual understanding of Emirati obligations and actions before, during and after delivery,” a State Department spokesperson said.
The US government has repeatedly pushed the UAE to drop China’s Huawei Technologies Co. from its telecommunications network, and claimed that the technology could pose a security risk for its weapons systems.
“The F-35 is our crown jewel of the United States, of our air force and so we need to be able to protect the technology security for all of our partners,” US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Regional Security Mira Resnick told CNN’s Becky Anderson last week, responding to a question about whether the UAE would have to choose between Huawei and the F-35s.
“These are the conversations we have with the Emiratis about the choices they can make now to be sure they can be part of the F-35 program,” Resnick added.
But UAE officials have been skeptical about US claims about the potential security breach and have expressed anxiety about getting caught up in a “new cold war” between a top trading partner and its main strategic ally. “What we are worried about is this fine line between acute competition (between China and the US) and a new Cold War,” Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the UAE leadership, said in remarks to the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington last week. “Because I think we, as a small state, will be affected negatively by this, but will not have the ability in any way to affect this competition even positively really.”
In those remarks, Gargash also confirmed reports that the UAE had shuttered a Chinese facility over US suspicions that it was being used for military purposes, despite the UAE disagreeing with the US’ characterization of the site. “The UAE’s view was that these certain facilities in no way could be construed as military facilities,” said Gargash. “However, US had its concerns and we took these American concerns into consideration and stopped the work on these facilities.”
“But our position remains the same. That these facilities were not really military facilities,” he added. “But then again, you had the concerns of your major ally, and I think it would be foolish for you not to address the concerns of your ally.”
A military delegation from the UAE is scheduled to visit the Pentagon tomorrow, according to Kirby, the Pentagon press secretary. Though the meeting wasn’t supposed to be about the sale of F-35s, it will almost certainly come up, he said.
“The meeting wasn’t designed to talk about a military sale,” he said. “It was designed talk about the broad scope of our defense relationship with the UAE. But I would anticipate that this would be something that we would take advantage of the opportunity to talk with them about their concerns, as well as sharing our concerns about the sale.”
Mostafa Salem and Celine Alkhaldi reported from Abu Dhabi. Jennifer Hansler and Oren Liebermann reported from Washington. Tamara Qiblawi wrote from London.

Malaysian MH370
Kemi Xu Discussion Topic:
Remembering the plane (Malaysian MH370) that had vanished? Former pilot Otto shares with us his personal thoughts. (Otto had the opportunity of meeting thé pilot of the vanished plane on occasions). Thank you Otto!
—
« The MH370, yes very strange what happened, I worked on the case in China, but came up with blank.
One thing I can say is, that none of the theories in the video clip at plausible.
1 – The Canadian pilot with fire, the plane would not made 180, the turn north, then west, then south, and 1000% the transponder would not have been switched off, nor would the ACARS.The plane would have followed the rute enteret into the FMS ( Flight Management SYSTEM ) and that would not mean 180 degree turn and then a northly heading, then a westerly heading, then south, secondly if it was a fire why no mayday call, or the transponder should have switched to 7700 which i emergency and would show up i air-traffic as mayday aircraft, and the plane would not have stayed in the air 7 hours.
2 – Well the hijacking is possible, but not remote, it is possible some hijacker entered the flight deck and switched of the transporter and ACARS, re programmed the FMS
You might think it is impossible to enter the flight deck, but it is not, first class row 1 can see the cockpit, the Captain always liked to go out and chat to the cabin crew girls, OK a picture of his little daughter , asking him if he know who it is? Then if you want to see her again, let me in to the flight deck and ? Well If it was me I would also corporate, so we don’t know?
3 Suicide, absolutely NOT, I used to fly to KL from Xiamen, and some times I would meet Captain Ahmed as he was called, know a little about him, and NO, 100% not, just think I want to commit suicide, and then first disable all the planes identification systems, then turn the plane 180, and then drop down to under 3000 ft ( over the Maldives ) then no idea what altitude it took from there if it was the MH370, OK then he would fly about 7 hours to commit suicide waiting for the plane to run out of gas, knowing if crashed on the ocean there would be debries and bodies everywhere, sounds possible? Not really.
The plane had 49 tons of fuel onboard, burning, depending on the altitude which we dont know, a little less than 7 tons pr hour, not including taxi and take off, so could be 7.30 hours total, then he fly 55 min out to the Thai Strait then back, one over two hours, so now he only have about 5 hours of fuel . and under normal condition at 35000 ft he would do in km/h about 880 so a little over 4400 km range, but no one really know where it went.
One thing which have been on my mind since day one, is, a the transponder was off no one would be able to identify the plane, and on military radar could easy look as a F16 or other military plane, they can not see the size of the plane on radar only the speed and direction, so my question is ? Why Thailand, Malaysia did not send fighters to intercept this unidentified plane, which could be hostile? After two days searching in the Thai Strait Malaysia said, oh we spotted e unidentified plane flying over Penang, wow 2 days, to come forward.
One thing I can say, it is not on the bottom of the sea, and how the flaperon found on Union, also a little strange, the flaperon is not controlled by the pilot, ot is automatic, and during landing it is normally up whereas the flaps are fully deployed and as the flaps are way bigger than the falperon, I also find it strange it was only that which came of during a sea ditching, which would have gone terrible wrong, and the plane would have broke up, (The Hudson river was calm at the time) unless the flaps would be found later.
My own thought is that, at the time there where US Thai military drills in the area, although not confirmed it was at this time, perhaps shoot down by accident by the US or Thai airforce, in the past few have suffered that faith in other parts of the world. So please give me a silver hat I deserve it, so many unanswered questions, why was all search and rescue called off in the Thai Strait and pointed sout to the Indian Ocean ?
The two senenarious fire and suicide NOT plausible, accoudning to friend of Captain Ahmed he had his flight simulator at least 4 years, so he would spend 4 years to plan his suicide? NO stupid to even think that, he was an very hornable guy like woman a lot loved to flirt, (don’t we all) , then, had a lovely little daughter which like me loving my daughter he loved her more than anything in the world, he would never dream about leaving her like this. »
