FBI is the Enemy with within against democracy! How the ‘Twitter Files’ have exposed a senior FBI official’s role in manipulating the outcome of the 2020 US election “推特檔案”如何揭露一名 FBI 高級官員在操縱 2020 年美國大選結果中的作用

The publication of classified documents reveals the scale of the Bureau’s involvement in US politics

Internal Twitter documents and communications published by the journalist Matt Taibbi have provided devastating detail on a sweeping censorship operation conducted by the social network. They expose the central role played by a senior FBI agent in potentially influencing the outcome of the 2020 US election.

Immediate reaction to the Twitter Files was mixed, but overwhelmingly the mainstream American media has rushed to pour cold water on Taibbi’s bombshell disclosures, with, for example, The Washington Post branding them a “dud” and CNN claiming they “largely corroborated what was already known.”

Such responses are quite extraordinary given that the Twitter Files offers incontrovertible evidence of one of the largest, most influential global social networks taking extraordinary measures – usually reserved to prevent the dissemination of child pornography – to block information on its platform.

In particular, Twitter banned, both publicly and privately, the sharing of a New York Post article, based on the contents of a laptop owned by Hunter Biden, pointing to possible corruption on the part of his father, then-presidential candidate Joe Biden. The report reinforced existing concerns about Hunter’s role with Burisma, for which he received up to $50,000 per month from the Ukrainian energy giant over a five-year period for attending a handful of corporate events.

The material exposed by Taibbi shows that a decision was made by individuals at the highest levels of Twitter – with direct connections to Biden’s Presidential campaign – due to apparent fears the laptop contents had been hacked and/or had been released as part of a Russian information operation. This was despite there being zero evidence or even a vague suggestion that either was the case, and significant internal concerns.

The Twitter Files show how, among the top brass involved in the suppression of this hugely significant story was the social network’s legal vice president Jim Baker, a former FBI general counsel. He was coincidentally also fundamental to the Bureau’s multiple attempts to fraudulently concoct a link between Trump’s campaign and Russia, one way or another.

It’s clear that many staffers didn’t believe there were grounds to ban the New York Post story on the basis of Twitter’s policies on sharing hacked materials. One communications department official wrote that they were “struggling to understand the policy basis for marking this as unsafe,” while their superior fretted, “can we truthfully claim that this is part of the policy?”

However, their legitimate worries were overruled. Twitter later reversed this ban but by that point the false specter of Russian meddling had been so successfully cemented – including via a joint letter signed by over 50 senior US spies – that the story was largely discredited in the eyes of many Americans and, thus, ignored. It is only now, with Biden safely in the White House, that other outlets have begun to verify the laptop’s contents as not only real, but damaging.

Baker was central to overruling subordinates about the basis for banning the story. In an email published by Taibbi, he announced it was “reasonable for us to assume that they may have been” hacked.

It is not explained why it was “reasonable” to make this assumption, especially as Baker himself acknowledged there were instead indications that “the computer was either abandoned and/or the owner consented to allow the repair shop to access it for at least some purposes.” Which is, of course, a total contradiction in terms. So the ban went ahead, despite internal concern about the decision.

“Hacking was the excuse but, within a few hours, pretty much everyone realized that wasn’t going to hold,” an anonymous Twitter source told Taibbi. “But no one had the guts to reverse it.”

One of the reasons Baker’s intervention may have cut through initial misgivings, and no staffers then had the “guts to reverse it,” could’ve been his status as resident Russian “disinformation” expert at Twitter. He left the FBI in June 2018 on undisclosed grounds, although it was later confirmed he was the subject of a criminal Justice Department investigation due to alleged leaking to the media of scurrilous innuendo about Trump’s non-existent relationship with the Kremlin at the time.

Questions were also asked about whether, as General Counsel, Baker played any role in greenlighting or overseeing various failed FBI counterintelligence investigations into Trump’s election team. Known as Crossfire Hurricane, these related probes were built on extremely shaky foundations, and led to no evidence supporting suspicions of Trump-Russia ties being unearthed, but still remained open under internal pressure, in contravention of established investigative protocols.

A subsequent internal review found 17 separate “significant inaccuracies and omissions” in the FBI’s court submissions for warrants that it applied for to spy on campaign staffer Carter Page.

More recently, Baker testified at the trial of Michael Sussmann, a well-connected Washington DC lawyer tied to the Democratic party. He was charged by Attorney General John Durham with lying to the FBI when he presented to the Bureau falsified evidence of contact between Trump Tower and Moscow via Russia’s Alfa Bank, in the summer of Sussmann claimed he was not representing a client in doing so, when in reality he was acting on behalf of the Democrats, and billed them for the service. Baker would’ve known anyway that this cover story was a lie, as he and Sussmann were longtime friends, but he recorded the delivery as the uninterested, selfless act of a concerned citizen. Quite why he wasn’t charged for procedural misconduct is not known.

It’s also not known why such dealings didn’t torpedo his professional credibility upon leaving the Bureau. Departing an organization like the FBI under such a dark cloud would normally mean the end of someone’s career. Instead, Baker was snapped up by Twitter to be the right hand man of Vijaya Gadde, the company’s head of legal.

Throughout her time at the social network, she was derided as its censor-in-chief, and leaked documents reveal she regularly consulted with the Department of Homeland Security on how best to restrict inconvenient facts online. It’s understandable why Baker would be such an attractive hire for Gadde.

He was by that point clearly an expert in perpetuating false claims of “disinformation” and “Russian meddling” for political purposes, to tremendous effect. The Russiagate hoax almost took down President Trump, and meant his term in office was spent ramping up tensions with Moscow rather than improving relations as he’d repeatedly promised on the campaign trail.

It could have been calculated within Twitter HQ that Baker would be willing to play a similarly destructive role the next time round, and prevent Trump from getting re-elected in the first place. Helping suppress the damaging material facts contained in the New York Post may have done just that.

  • TSMC stolen by the US

TSMC stolen by the US. “The whole thing. The doors were taken down to Arizona.” 台積電被美國偷走. “整件事. 門被拆到了亞利桑那州.”

Professor Ling-Chi Wang of UC Berkeley: Several Taiwan TV commentators are calling Dec. 7, 2022, a Tragic Day for Taiwan ( 台湾的悲哀日) because Taiwan loss its world’s most advance and valuable semiconductor industry to the U.S. under duress! It is also the day President Biden, at the TSMC transfer ceremony in Phoenix, Arizona, loudly declared that high-tech manufacturing day “has returned to the U.S.,” therefore a day of jubilation and celebration!.

Dec. 7 happens to be the Pearl Harbor Day, “a date which will live in infamy,” President Roosevelt to the nation. Should this day be considered Taiwan’s Pearl Harbor Day? We don’t know yet what is going to happen to Taiwan and to TSMC in its new home in the Arizona desert and what is going to happen to the rest of TSMC in Taiwan and other parts of the world. Speculations abound. A lot of promises were made at the ceremony. We shall see. But one thing is sure, Biden essentially declared that “What is thine is mine! There is nothing Taiwan can do to reverse TSMC’s destiny..

KJ Noh: Plus these Chinamen are taking all their water–chip manufacture is incredibly water intensive in a state that is besieged by water shortages.

    It’s also incredibly polluting.

And where will they get the thousands of skilled line staff for production? The US couldn’t make windshield glass to Chinese standards. How could they make something whose tolerance and complexity is orders of magnitude higher and more difficult?

TSMC’s new plant in Arizona, USA held the first batch of machines and equipment arrival ceremony on December 6. According to Taiwan media, President Joe Biden attended the ceremony accompanied by top government officials and top executives from the corporate world, including Apple CEO Tim Cook, Micron Technology CEO Sanjay Mehrot, and Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang, He also announced the “return of American manufacturing.”

TSMC also announced on the 6th that its Arizona plant has begun construction of the second phase of the project, which is expected to start production of 3-nanometer process technology in 2026. The first phase of the plant, currently under construction, is expected to begin production of the 4-nanometer process technology in 2024, with a total investment of approximately $40 billion for the two phases. Together, the two phases will produce more than 600 thousand wafers per year, with an estimated market value of more than US $40 billion for the end product. Brian Deese, director of the White House National Economic Council, told reporters that the “significant milestone” was “the largest foreign direct investment in Arizona’s history and one of the largest foreign direct investments in U.S. history.”

This “major milestone,” which the Americans joyfully celebrated, has brought to the media and people in Taiwan a lot of bitterness.

According to Taiwan’s “China News Network,” TSMC continues to expand its production capacity in the United States, and many people on the island doubt that this move will hollow out the semiconductor industry in Taiwan. Wei Zhejia, president of TSMC, responded on the 6th that he left the ecology of the Taiwan region, TSMC can not live as well as before, to say that TSMC went to the United States to hollow out the semiconductor industry in Taiwan, there is no door.

But the people on the island were devastated when they saw the news about TSMC. “The doors are gone, the doors have been taken down in Arizona,” “the whole move, without leaving the doors open” “build an extra fab in America,” Is to build a fab less in Taiwan. “” In a few years it will be called ‘US SMC’. “

Taiwan’s China Times editorial office also lamented that TSMC had been taken away by the United States.

According to the article, TSMC decided to set up a plant in America under pressure from the United States. At that time, it was a 5nm factory, and the more advanced process was still in Taiwan, but on the eve of the equipment arrival ceremony, it was reported that it would be upgraded to a 4nm factory, and soon a 3nm factory would be set up.

This makes people gradually find that something is “wrong.” At the beginning, the United States had to “support Taiwan” because it needed Taiwan’s cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing capabilities, but now it has made TSMC invest through various threats and inducements, and the most cutting-edge processes have passed. In other words, the United States does not necessarily “stand up” anymore.

The article said that the United States approach is the most offensive, taking all of TSMC’s technology, talent, and intellectual wealth in the past, like a blatant robbery. What is worse is that the DPP authorities are obedient and cooperative, and they are simply “sold and help count the money,” and care about the rights and interests of the people?

Taiwan’s “United Daily News” also published an editorial saying that TSMC is the leader of the global semiconductor industry, and its importance is needless to say. In recent years, TSMC has repeatedly been pushed into the firing line by the DPP authorities in the US-China science and technology war. These developments are disturbing. The DPP authorities lack a long-term strategy for economic development, but they continue to use TSMC as a strategic bargaining chip for external exchanges and have no intention to meet its necessary hydropower and manpower needs.

Biden claims credit for the theft of TSMC, but Trump struck the deal in 2020.

No one bashed Trump over that – just when he said he would try to get along with Russia.

    Did this make you smile?

  • UCSD prof forced out

1882 Chinese Exclusion Acts is alive an well, UCSD prof forced out of his position after 30 yrs for alleged relations with China. by KJ – SF Bay Area China Group. 1882 年排華法案仍然存在,加州大學聖地亞哥分校教授因涉嫌與中國的關係而在大學工作了30 年後被迫離職

UC San Diego professor Xiang-Dong Fu alleges he has been forced out of his position after 30 years there after being investigated in connection with possible policy violations over his relationships with Chinese universities.
His attorney called the case “an example of an investigation process gone off the rails. … There’s no rational explanation except discrimination and racial profiling.”

Fu resigned effective Dec. 5, though he maintains he has never acted inappropriately or illegally.

During an investigation that began in 2019, Fu was determined to be in violation of UCSD’s “conflict of commitment” policy, which outlines limitations on foreign collaboration….
He was given a choice, he said: Resign or face a disciplinary hearing to determine whether he should be dismissed.

“I was shocked,” Fu said. “I didn’t do anything wrong.”

Before the NIH-prompted inquiry, no one at UCSD, including Fu’s department supervisors, had ever indicated a problem with his relationships in China, he said.

He maintained that none of his actions were inappropriate or against UCSD policy.

“Many, many other people (are) doing the same thing,” he said. “This is targeted.”

Larsen contended UCSD not only wasn’t uneasy about Fu’s past collaboration but was “happy to benefit from it.”

Larsen characterized the hearing as discriminatory against Fu, violating his rights as a faculty member in that he was never contacted to rebut or respond to any of the investigation’s findings, nor were any health sciences peers on the hearing committee, which she said is essential to the process.
Fu said his direct supervisor, department Chairman Don Cleveland, testified that Fu did not violate any policy.

  • The Recent China Covid Situation

A Special Message to My Readers On The Recent China Covid Situation by MARIO CAVOLO DEC 8 2022 關於最近的中國 Covid 形勢致我的讀者的特別信息

The Chinese govt & its people over the past three years sacrificed to achieve the most remarkable Public Health Policy achievement of the 21st Century – that is the legacy of the country’s ZeroCovid policy path.

An estimated 5 million deaths were prevented by the combination of this policy, sacrifice & civic duty here in China, while now a significant shift finally arrives.

Meticulous tracking of the evolving virus finally brings the time when the govt can confidently make larger adjustments to the restrictive policies which were such a sacrifice to the entire country & its people. Especially those who lost the most, they should be honored and appreciated.

Living here 24 yrs with my local Chinese family, I can tell you this is a country deeply rooted by the safety & stability of the marriage / family households including grandparents. And so it is no surprise the protection of everyone’s health was the top priority when the pandemic hit. I wasn’t surprised at all. Instead, knowing sacrifice and civic duty required by the citizens would match the govt’s ZeroCovid policy approach focusing 100% on saving lives. And that is exactly what happened.

The Chinese citizens are amongst the most hard working and educated in the world. They did not go along with the govt because they are sheep, or controlled, or oppressed. They went along because they agreed, supported the policy and knew it was the right thing, the only thing to do, protect everyone’s health, protect their family’s health. Nobody here needed to be coerced or convinced to wear a mask. People who value family & health already know what they should do and the govt knew its people would be together with them in the values of the ZeroCovid policy.

Indeed, in the end, the result is what counts. We can easily estimate based on fatalities in other countries, this policy, this govt and its citizens worked together to save around 5 million lives. And let’s not forget there would also be around 100 million LongCovid cases as a burden as well. Instead, a relatively very small # of cases, deaths & LongCovid cases occurred. This is what China and its people have proudly achieved. Upon which China now finally faces the next phase of the Covid pandemic, which by all measures is thankfully improving, but far from over.

The Shanghai outbreak around August was the first to confirm in the data being meticulously tracked & analyzed by the experts of the China CDC & NCH (National Health Council) that the most recent variant pathogenicity was becoming acceptably mild with a signficantly lower death rate. By mid November, the govt released a new set of 20 relaxed policy guidelines confirming these encouraging assessments of the evolving pandemic. A few days later, over the weekend a few youth protests occurred. These further acted as a passionate, confirming nudge to the govt by its people, showing their frustration and that the govt moving in this direction toward less restrictive, more isolated, targeted policies was indeed, the right direction for the country. An additional 10 updated guidelines were issued on December 7th. ZeroCovid as a policy evolves as the pandemic evolves, with protecting health always a priority. This should surprise no one.

More importantly, such a sacred and important matter should not be misreported and distorted by voices discussing these matters, especially official mainstream media news sites, whom we continue to encourage to report the news in a clear non-divisive way which prioritizes safety, stability & mutual cooperation between all countries. By this time now in early December, the NHC has announced continuing relaxation of restrictions as it clearly knows the need to balance the economic and daily life priorities with health as a priority. Suggestions that the govt did any of this to control or oppress its people are absurd. Such voices serve only to point fingers as to hide the failings of their own countries and their govts. As is too common, this is just more distorted anti China propaganda.

I firmly believe all that the Chinese govt has done every step of the way since January 2020 when the pandemic began is assess and create policy it viewed as best overall for the society and Chinese people. While I am always going to be a foreigner, I will never fully know inside the minds of native Chinese or its govt, but I understand well enough. As a foreigner living here 24 years with my local Chinese family, with a Luika green card, with my Yibaoka national health insurance card, I am as close to being a Chinese citizen as any foreigner could be and I am proud to say China has become my home.

However, there are too many dark forces who will never acknowledge the achievements of this amazing country with a healthy perspective. They will attack and distort on all things China. Lately, in arguing with these confused and malevolent people, I have sometimes spoken too harshly in public. For this I apologize, glad to humbly acknowledge I am also human before God. We must all strive to be better, to share our views based on what we can see clearly is evidently observably certain circumstances not based on excess rhetoric that might feel good, but only serves to add fuel to the fire. The fire of attacks against China does not need any more fuel. It needs people like myself and many others making the efforts to speak plainly and strongly, with conviction yet with balance and clear knowledge to accomplish our purpose, my purpose, and that is to create a better, true understanding of the real China and its increasingly significant place in this world in our lifetimes while looking to our future generations.

When I think of China as my home, I also think of America where I was born and my native blood country Italy. Over a century ago, my family began leaving Italy to the shores of a new life in America. There is so much good to be said, admired & respected about all three of these countries which define my family’s heritage. I think often with great pride that my own son was the first child in over a century of our family generations to be born outside of the United States, born here in China, raised to know, understand and respect his family’s heritage and history.

As we now face a particularly new set of challenges here in the coming weeks & months, the entire world will be greatly impacted. The world needs our prayers, our efforts, our sincerity & God’s grace. I thank you dear friends.

    Warmly,
    Mario
